It’s on again! The show that holds a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest amateur variety performance is back to dazzle audiences at Qudos Bank Arena and around Australia on Channel 7.
John first appeared at School Spec as a student. In 1986, his jazz band provided foyer entertainment during interval; by 1987, he’d moved to the big stage inside.
I’ll always be grateful to School Spec for the opportunities the show gave me. Performing in front of that huge crowd – and in front of millions more on television – was a life-changing experience for me, not just for the joy of performing, but also for thew doors that opened up to me as a result of those performances. I gained real confidence from those moments. It was the first time that I really thought that I could have a musical future. I am grateful for the opportunity to have a continued connection with a show that changed my life and, each year, changes the lives of the thousands of students who are lucky enough to be part of the show.
